I am constantly telling my students that they need to overcome their fear of rejection and put themselves “out there”. As a naturally shy person, I understand their fears all too well. I started this blog after a past student asked me why I never share any of my writing; he asked me if I was scared.

Honestly, yes. I am scared.

I try to never ask my students to do anything that I wouldn’t do if I were in their situations. Jon made a great point: I encourage them to face rejection; I need to do the same.
